lately we've been having issues with carter not putting the seat up when he uses the bathroom and not watching to make sure everything is aiming into the toilet--he'll just be looking around at everything except the toilet. so i was brushing sydney's teeth last night and carter came in and started to go and i said "carter, you really need to remember to put the seat up when you go because that's what boys do, and you need to watch what you're doing so you don't get pee everywhere!" he just looked at me and said "mom, it's not like i don't have ears--i can hear if it's going in the toilet or not."
usually the kids get in trouble if they are sassy, but i couldn't stop laughing. he wasn't trying to be snotty, he was just very matter-of-fact about it that it was ok if he didn't watch what he was doing because he'd be able to hear if it was ending up on the floor or the seat instead of the toilet.
