it really makes you appreciate heated water, a dishwasher, and internet when you have to go with out for 24 hrs... i sound so spoiled, but i just get used to all these "necessities" and it reminds me how much i need to be grateful for them. we have not had hot water since yesterday morning. i still have not showered today, in hopes that miraculously the hot water heater will get replaced and heat up in time so i'll be able to shower right before Carter's birthday party tonight. also, all 3 kids need a bath--i would start heating water on the stove right now, but the water is turned off at this point because our landlord is trying to change out the old water-heater and it isn't going as planned.... i hand-washed about 50 million dishes last night because our dishwasher is not working and so i was boiling water on the stove to fill up the sink with warm water. perfect day for this to happen. i don't know why i have been stressing about his party, but i just want my house to look nice and clean before people show up...even though it will be a total disaster once they all leave i'm sure. sigh. so if any of you who read this are coming tonight and i still have bed-head, and my kids smell, and there are still a pile of dishes in the sink, i know you'll understand my pain.
