Take me out to the ballgame...

For the past several weeks Carter has been playing Little League. It's been great fun for the whole family to go and cheer for him and his team. Mike has been helping out the headcoach at practices with drills along with all the other dads and Carter has improved so much from last year. This year was kid pitch and the teams were devised by a draft system. He got drafted to the Mariners.

In the outfield his favorite position to play is third base and he usually plays there a few innings, right/center, and sometimes pitcher. Carter has a really fast swing and especially likes hitting the faster pitches.
Here he is after hitting a base hit and getting to second base. Then his teammate hit it and he ran so hard to third base. Check out this slide:

And you can see the ball here, almost to the third baseman, who caught and then fumbled the ball. Carter was SAFE!
Carter did especially well in one game where he hit TWO doubles! He received the game ball after that game and was pretty excited the whole night long!
They've made it through the tournament play and play their last game on Friday to determine 3rd and 4th place.
Go Mariners!

Carter is so cute. He is going to be the MVP when he gets older. He is so athletic. Way to go Carter. Hope he does well in his last game and comes away with 3rd place.
