Carter and buddies

Carter has this cute little routine he does every time on the block: Adjusts his goggles, presses them against his eyes, arms out in front and then circle them around before gripping the block, then the big dive!

In this freestyle relay race his team was tied for last place with the team in the adjacent lane.  Carter was the anchor swimmer and both of the 3rd leg swimmers touched the wall at the same time.  Carter had a really strong dive and got in the water first and was able to pass the other 3 swimmers and his team took 1st!  They were neck and neck in this picture and it was a very exciting race!

Since this was Sydney's first year of swimteam she had an older big buddy.  And much to her delight it was our neighbor Marie!  She would help Syd get to her races on time and was always there cheering her on. Here they had the backs painted with "Go Marlins" for the B-champs.

Both did really well and improved immensely from the beginning to the end of the season.  Sydney shaved 12 seconds off her backstroke time and took 4th place overall at the B-champs.
